Canada announced Friday that it will soon require all commercial air travelers, cruise ship passengers, and interprovincial train passengers to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

The new mandate will go into effect this fall, no later than the end of October, according to a government news release.

The government will also require employees in federally regulated air, rail, and marine transportation sectors to be vaccinated.

"There are enough doses in Canada for every person to be fully vaccinated across the country," said Minister of Health Patty Hajdu. "By getting vaccinated, you are protecting yourself, your family, and your community… If you haven't been vaccinated yet, please make a plan to do so."
